About CressPure

CressPure is a food brand from Cressanda Consumers Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai. We started with atta, because it is the one thing an Indian family eats every single day, and because it is the hardest thing to get away with faking.

What we make

One product, for now. A 2 kg pack of Premium Sharbati Atta: a single wheat variety grown in the black soil belt around Sehore in Madhya Pradesh, ground slowly on a stone chakki, then filled and sealed in the same building it was milled in.

It is live on Blinkit across Mumbai. It costs more than the atta you are probably buying, and we would rather explain why than hope you do not notice.

What we publish

Everything we claim, we publish the basis for.

• The full laboratory report: other grains, a 94-pesticide screen, heavy metals, aflatoxin, moisture and the complete nutrition panel.
• A packing date and a batch number on every pack, so any pack can be traced back to a specific mill run and a specific report.
• A clear window on the pack, so the colour, the grain and the fineness of the grind can be judged on the shelf, before you pay.
• Fifty articles across The Purity Journal and The CressPure Kitchen on how to judge any atta, ours included.

Who writes it

All of it carries one byline. Aakanksha Bhagwatkar writes and edits both blogs. The rules she works to, and the corrections policy, are published on her page.

What comes next

Toor dal, chana dal and makhana are being sourced and tested. Each will be listed only once it has cleared the same checks the atta cleared. We would rather be late than list something we cannot show you the report for.
